Water Cycle Science

During Science we have been exploring the water cycle. On our baggies we drew a picture of the water cycle. After we reviewed the water cycle we filled our baggies with water. Once the baggies were filled we hung up them on the window. Our hope is our baggies filled with water will show us the water cycle. As the water is heated from the sun, we hope to see the evaporation stage. Then as the water vapor condense the water will eventually fall, representing precipitation.

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

In my reading and language group we having been working on research projects. First, the students were asked to brainstorm items that could be reused. Next, the students worked in a group to research about reusing and recycle. They found out why it is important for our environment to follow the 3 R's: reducing, reusing, and recycling. After the students researched they were asked to create a college of pictures showing items that were reusable. Students then created a plan for a presentation to show reusable items and how we can use the 3R's at school. I was so proud of how the students worked together and planned great presentations. Our audience manners even improved from our last round of presentations. We started asking real quality questions. I'm looking forward to seeing their continued improvement on their research projects.

Third Grade Takes On Challenge Days

The third graders had a blast yesterday at Challenge Days. We appreciate all the fun activities Mrs.Rischling and the college students planned for us. :) We can't wait to do it again next year.

Miss Cali

Our class has been lucky enough to have several students from the college come and join our class. Our class was really sad to see our last student Miss Cali go. On her last day she did a fun art activity and even let us decorate our own rice crispy treat.
