Third Grade is Rocking!
Mrs.Olson's class has had a blast learning about the three kinds of rocks. We even made all three types of rocks. This was especially fun because we used candy. As one of the students said, "Who knew science could be so yummy!"

Tasting Our Culture
Third graders brought in dishes from all over the world to celebrate our cultures. It was so neat to taste the different foods. The students did a wonderful job sharing about their dishes and where they came from. We even had a student bring in pictures and maps from the Philippines. Another student showed us a traditional dance from her culture. It was wonderful to have time to celebrate and appreciate our differences.
Cloudy With a Chance Of...
Mrs.Olson's class had some fun experimenting with the water cycle. We used shaving cream and food coloring to learn about condensation and precipitation.

Christmas
I am a little late, but I wanted to share what a great week we had before Christmas Break. At CIS we did a school-wide Christmas Around the World. Students got their passports and suitcases and headed around the school to learn about seven different countries. On Wednesday, everyone participated in a holiday sing along. We had a blast singing our favorite carols in our pajamas!
